In November 2017 we went to Thailand for 3 weeks. It was an amazing experience experience and so great to see the kids absorbing the culture and environment. We visited temples, went climbing on beautiful crags next to the ocean, took cooking classes, took advantage of the awesome cuisine, enjoyed many amazing beaches, visited an elephant sanctuary, went hiking and biking, and made new friends. Here is one humorous excerpt from my travel journal:
“Cooper and I are walking back to our room from the beach, passing through a crowded courtyard. An old guy is walking toward us. He's wearing a speedo. He's a full-figured sort of guy, would be a way of putting it. He is about to pass on my right side where Cooper is walking next to me holding my hand. 4 ft away. Cooper, not known for tact or low volume, yells “He isn’t wearing anything!” Twenty heads swivel toward us. Old guy stops, so do we, so does everyone else. Umm how do I diffuse this? “Ahh he’s wearing a bathing suit Cooper.” Cooper, still yelling for some reason, “That's not a bathing suit!” Old guy laughs, “Call it what you will young man, it fits like Cinderella’s slipper”. And then he continues walking and the court yard comes back to life.
Props to the old guy for such a quick, unphazed, good-natured response. And Props to Cooper for putting a smile on twenty faces.“
